Hi Thomas:
I was wondering if you have looked at www.radiotuna.com for use within AOM Record.  It's similar to Slacker and has some pretty decent music stations although it does have some narrative between songs so I'm not sure how well it would work.  I wqs the person that suggested Slacker.com to you and you implemented it within days.

Also, I was wondering if there are any issues using AOM Record with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit version?

Thanks,

Hi Terrance,

I had a look into this. Yes, it can be done, but it probably will not work all the times because some stations don't show the media data very well. I also see the problem about pause recognition. Could you please try to record some music without title and let me know if it's really worth implementing this?

Regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas:
I think you are right, with the continuous dialog it doesn't seem to make much sense to record this station, it's similar to other stations like satelite radio that makes it difficult to detect pauses between songs.

For stations like this or others that have the pause problem, have you ever though of just recording a stream and simultaneously recording a sort of timeline that would be synchronized with the music but would show the artist and song title information.  Then develop a product something like Audacity that could read the music stream and the timeline of artist and title information and approximate a song end when the title information changes.  Then give the user tools so they can backup or skip forward until they actually hear the end of the song.  Then they could click an icon that would output just that song with the correct artist and title information.  Yes it takes a while but if the program is as clever as your others, it would make the process less tedious.

Hi Terrance,

OK, I could include radiotuna in AOMrecod. If you adjust it right it records the songs one by one with the beginning and end overlapping and you could afterwards edit the file with an appropriate audio editor like Audacity.

Does this help?

Hi Thomas:
I think if you add RadioTuna.com that would be good.  But in my previous post what I was thinking is that if AOMRecord could output a timeline file of the media information showing the start and end time of each media info change then when you used a tool like Audacity you could correlate it with the timeline file you created so you could remember the media info (artist and title) of each song so when you cut the songs apart you know what to name them.  Ideally though, it would be nice if you created a program similar to audacity, although all you would need is the ability to cut songs apart and visualize the audio and it would also show the timeline info of the media.  Then you could slide the Start of Song and End of Song markers along the visual audio section and then tell the program to cut the song and it would automatically use the media info that you recorded to create the file name with artist and song title.
Thanks,
Terrance

Hello Terrance,

Yes, I understood what you mean. From my point of view implementing a timeline would not be as comfortable as the current situation. Now you can adjust AOMrecord to add some seconds from the last song at the beginning and some from the next one at the end. The tags are set correctly already. I think this would make it even easier to edit the songs after recording because there is no necessity to divide a stream manually into songs because they are available already.

Please let me know what you think.

I was wondering if you would be able to add stations from http://www.cbn.com/radio/
There are at least 6 channels and they bring up the song/album/artist.
Thanks,
Bryan
