Hi Thomas,

Just installed AOMrecord on my super new computer.   Records track ok but when I play track again there's no bass only treble.

ZitatEqualizer and tone controls

should be disabled or set to their neutral position while you record. If they are not, their settings will changed on the next playback again and accumulate each other. This is probably not what you expect from a high fidelity playback.

Sorry to be such a thicky but hasn'T helped.  Equalizer and tone controls
on Windows?

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian,

Some players do have equalizers, too. If you use the AOL stuff, there is none, so this shouldn't affect your case.

Can you get me some information, like sound card, player you use, OS, recording rate etc.?

Have a nice weekend

Thanks for your efforts,

Hello Brian,

I can only say that AOMrecord records exactly what the sound card plays. If it doesn't seem to be so, it could be that a low recording quality is selected (tab MP3, WMA, ...). I recommend to use at least 75% or 128 kbit for WMA and 9 var. or 128 kbit with MP3.

Hope this helps. Please let us know.

Regards

The sound quality is great from the soundcard.

I'm using the same settings as on my old computer.   The quality was fine on playback on my old compuer.  Sorry forgot to mention MP3 5 var.  There's no bass on playback and sounds very tinny.

Could it be that you don't use the correct input for recording? There was a case where one was recording from a notebook's built in microphone and the quality of course turned out very bad.

It could also be that the signal can be recorded from several virtual sound card inputs. Try another one if possible. One could even get influenced by adjustments in the mixer (bass, treble if available). Have a look at the windows mixer (can be opened from within AOMrecord).

Sorry, but you really have to play around a bit. It definitely cannot be AOMrecord's fault.

BTW, make sure the latest sound card drivers are installed.

I guess that's all I can do from here.

I'm just using the default settings from windows.  What should be should be the correct input setting?

Yep, I'll see if I can see a windows mixer.

Yep, I'll play aroond with it some more.  If worst comes to worst I'll switch recording to my laptop.  Presumably you can give me a new key, if needed?

Ok, I'll try that too.

Maybe a little prayer?

Thanks for your help so far,
