Hello Thomas, there's a problem with accessing Slacker with your proxy.
When you launch that radio with Aomplayer you can log in and start playing songs. But each time (after two or three songs) i'm disconnected, then appears a message telling : "Your account has experienced unusual activity. Please sign in again to continue listening."
You have then to log once again and you're again disconnected two songs later.
Does it mean Slacker has a way to know that i'm not located in Usa or  perhaps
it's your proxy that have technical problems? (I must add that it works great with Pandora!).
I'm using Windows XP SP2 and IE 8.
Using Google translate i followed some of the advices you gave on the German
speaking forum : the "bbcomand" thing and the standalone slacker player.
The standalone player provides low bitrate .aac files and also disconnects.
Could you give me some information to solve this problem?

Bye.
Alex.

Thomas

Hi Alex,

Nice to read from you after a while ;). I have used slacker a lot during the last days and haven't had a problem like this. Right now it's running fine since two hours or so.

Didn't the "bbcommand" thing do any well? I have to use it alle time to prevent Slacker from stopping after each song. But I never had the message that my account does unusual things.

What about creating another account?

Please keep me up with your experience.

Happy holiday!

Thomas

Thanks for the answer Thomas.
I'm not on holidays; i'm working! Holidays are on August !!
I think i kind of worked it out. In fact i use Aomrecord only for the proxy. I don't like much recording from the soundcard because it goes through an analog to digital conversion, you have to adjust the volume levels and it sometimes also  record others Windows sounds.
I have another software that captures the data exactly as it's streamed, so no quality loss at all. I run that soft, then open Aomrecord and activate the proxy to access the US only streaming sites. It works great with Pandora but i get that error with Slacker after two songs, don't know why.
When i record with Aomrecord i don't have that problem anymore, so the problem has nothing to do with your software.

Good evening.
Alex

Hello again Alex,

I just meant the holiday on May, 1st ;).

I have a little problem understanding what you are telling. Please correct me:

1. You are using AOMplayer (not AOMrecord) to play Pandora and Slacker with the AOMproxy. Playing Pandora this way works, but playing Slacker results in the problem described earlier. Is that right?

2. If you do 1. and run AOMrecord additionally the problem disappears.

If I understood everything right AOMrecord does something that lets Slacker play. This sounds very strange to me because AOMrecord is just a recorder, nothing else.

Please give me some assistance to make sure that there is no problem within AOManything.

Good night

Thomas

BTW, could you please let me know which recorder you use?

Thomas,

I can listen to slacker and jango, but do not get any data information. I can pick up the data from WinAmp, but not slacker or jango.

Cheers,

Sal

I have AOMRecord 2.4.614 running. I can launch AOMPlayer and hit Pandora mini, but there is a lin that asks for a proxy. I do not have an AOM proxy.

If I type in www.pandora.com in a separate Internet Explorer window, pandora loads up without any problem at all. It plays very nicely. There is no "media data from provider" obtained. The music is playing and picked up in the audio divices, but no data.  The provider just has a dot (button) and does not say Pandora.  When I try to open Pandora via the proxy, it says Pandora, but the proxy window keeps coming up.

If I try slacker radio, I cannot launch it from AOMPlayer, because I need a proxy. If I load www.slacker.com and paly it that way, the media provider show slacker and teh little separate icon window show the album cover, but the data is not picked up.

Yahoo Launchcst has now hooked up with CBS and looks similar to AOL with CBS. The media provider states Y!Music Launchcast, but no media data.

For Live365. The Live365 name pops up briefly in the media provider line, then a dot (button) shows up. Live365 always opens with a comercial now so this may be an issue.

ACCURadio works exactly as it should. All the information shows up including the album, but not for all channels.

......although, I notice now that you have an update, while I was experimenting here and writing this note.......

Good evening everybody.

I installed the latest version and installed it :
=>Jango : - mini player through Aomplayer : never loads
                - launching Jango's web page with Aomplayer does not work
                  ("script error IE8")
                - activate Aomproxy in Aomplayer and then launch separatly
Jango with Internet Explorer 8 : works and the metadata is Ok
                  in Aomrecord

=>Pandora : - mini player through Aomplayer : never loads ("script error
                   IE8")
                 - launching Pandora's web page with Aomplayer does not work
                  ("script error IE8")
                 - activate Aomproxy in Aomplayer and then launch separatly
Pandora with Internet Explorer 8 : songs play fine but no
                    metadata.

=>Slacker :- mini flash player and mini WMP load well and the metadata is
                ok.
                - launching slacker's web page with Aomplayer does not work
                  ("script error IE8")
-- activate Aomproxy in Aomplayer and then launch separatly
Slacker with Internet Explorer 8 : songs play fine and the
                    metadata is ok.

=> Yahoo Radios : useless now, Thomas should take them away from
Aomplayer, those radios do not exist anymore. Now Yahoo has made
a partnership with CBS and the player is the same as Aol Radio now.

=> Rhapsody Radios : impossible to access them through the shortcut of
Aomplayer (still that script error), but if you activate the proxy and then
open IE8 you can get access to the radios but no mediadata.

If it can help Thomas here's the full error message ;

Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occured in the script on this page
Line : 53
Char : 4
Error : no such interface supported
Code : 0
Url:  http://aomrecord.de/player/pandora_mini_0.htm
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

And then when you click yes nothing happens !

A request : do you think you could update your soft to adapt it to those
                great sites => deezer.com
                                => jiwa.fr (or jiwa.fm)
Being in Germany i think you can't choose a particular song but
               you can use the radios.
Last thing; you asked me what other soft i used : it's "Replay media catcher"

Good Week-end.
Alex.

Thomas

Sal,
Zitat von: "letti001"I have AOMRecord 2.4.614 running. I can launch AOMPlayer and hit Pandora mini, but there is a lin that asks for a proxy. I do not have an AOM proxy.
Why don't you just switch off the AOMproxy feature as described in the help? Youn don't need it anyway if you are in the USA.
Zitat von: "letti001"If I type in www.pandora.com in a separate Internet Explorer window, pandora loads up without any problem at all. It plays very nicely. There is no "media data from provider" obtained. The music is playing and picked up in the audio divices, but no data.  The provider just has a dot (button) and does not say Pandora.  When I try to open Pandora via the proxy, it says Pandora, but the proxy window keeps coming up.
You must run Pandora in AOMplayer to get all media data in AOMrecord.
Zitat von: "letti001"If I try slacker radio, I cannot launch it from AOMPlayer, because I need a proxy. If I load www.slacker.com and paly it that way, the media provider show slacker and teh little separate icon window show the album cover, but the data is not picked up.
Slacker can be run without AOMplayer if you use the latest update. But I recommend using it inside AOMplayer with the proxy feature switched off.
Zitat von: "letti001"Yahoo Launchcst has now hooked up with CBS and looks similar to AOL with CBS. The media provider states Y!Music Launchcast, but no media data.
I'll take Yahoo out of AOMplayer. Currently it's best to record AOL radio from last.fm (with fm.mini) or winamp which both work fine. I'll keep an eye on this topic anyway.

HTH. Let me know what your experience is going to be.

Thomas,

I have the proxy button "un-ticked" but ti still re-directs to the proxy if I launch from AOMPlayer. If I launch Pandora first and then open AOMRecord, I am okay.

The new changes are working. The reason I tried the proxy was that I thought that there was something needed within the proxy to see the meta data. I was wrong, but now it wants to launch the proxy whether the box is ticked or not.

And "yes" it seems to working fine now for Pandora, Slacker, and WinAmp.

I cannot get last.fm to be recongnized...with or without the fm.mini running.
