Hello Thomas,

Many singers' websites now have a featured video of a song or two.  I've tried to use AOMRecord to record these songs, and have an unusual result.

I am able to find the input, adjust the recording level, and the sound records to a WAV file.  But after a few minutes the WAV file disappears, as if it has been encoded to MP3, but I am unable to find the MP3 file (maybe because I don't know the name).  The file location for music doesn't contain a new MP3.  This happens even if I check the box not to delete the WAV file after encoding.

Do you know whether an mp3 file is being created and if so where I would find it?

Thank you,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Looks like there was no pause between the songs to give AOMrecord a chance to recognize the end of the recording. Otherwise it's most probably some kind of setting.

Does the MP3 conversion work with other recordings?

Thomas,

Actually there was a silence at the end of the song, and then I also manually stopped the recording.

MP3s are recording from other sources, for example Live365.

Mark,

Can you try to give me a step by step instruction to reproduce this behaviour? Please include your settings as appropriate.

Ok, Thomas, I'll try:

1. Under Recording, click "record current song"

2. Go to Internet Explorer and start song, e.g. (Bowie)
http://www.vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=1552185&vid=133175

3. At end of song, there are about 2 seconds of silence before next song begins.  Just to be sure, click "Stop" in the Recording tab.

4. WAV file correctly appears in the folder for temporary files, labeled by date and time, for example 080524204947.wav

5. In an earlier AOMRecord version, after a few minutes, an mp3 with same date and time label, for example 080524204947.mp3 would appear in destination folder for music.

6. In the current AOMRecord version, no mp3 file with the date and time label appears in destination folder for music.

7. My settings do not include deleting temporary files after encoding.

I hope this helps.
