I upgrade today to a super fast HP, 8 gig but aomrecord displays a message even before I can add my old register key:
Cannot locate Stereo audio input with sample rate 44.1 or 48, 16 bit, etc etc. This is a 64 bit Windows Vista. I'm amazed my litte one gig supported aom but i've met a problem with this new super computer. I have RealTek sound just like the old computer by the way. Dave Osborn.
Which recording devices does the Mixer show?
Have you tried to assign the input to use manually as described in the help?
Have you tried different drivers 4 the sound card?

Hi Thomas. I can not read your f1 and f2 files as aom will not open, it closes after i close the notice about the sound, so i do not know how to follow any manual advice instructions.. Looking at my sound devices section on controls i see realtek hdmi output, realtek digital output and realtek high def. audio. In order to help you see what is installed with this totally new sytem its a m9500f Hewlett Packard. x4 9750 Quad-core processor. 8 gb, 750 gb harddrive. -David

Looks like I can't help you very much from here. If there are no input devices on this osund card your should really try another driver.

Hi Thomas. I reopened my old computer and got the name of the old music card, its realtek ac97. I went to cnet and downloaded the driver, then extracted it. After i did that i do not know what to do next (or where it went, tho i do see all the files for it when it search it by name. ), its not showing as an active soundcard, i guess i just don't get this portion. maybe someone with windows vista can walk me thru the steps of a sound driver that works for them. I also am in the dark on soundcard versus driver. Do i need both, or just the driver, ??? i have prefecty good sound systemsi n this machine, after all its three times the machine as my little one was. Dave.
