Hi,
After recording a song I get this Message in Windows Vista: Data Execution Prevention has closed Microsoft (R) Console based Script Host. I have disabled DEP from AOM recorder and I still get this Problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie
Hi Jamie,
Sounds very strange. What kind of file do you try to create (wav, mp3, wma, ...)?
Greetings
Thomas
Thanks for the reply Thomas.
I am using a WAV file. I get the error message right after the first song records and the new song begins. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie
You're welcome Jamie,
One more question: Are you using the 'Normalize music files after recording' feature? If so, please disable this feature and try again.
Thomas
That fixed the problem...Thanks for the help Thomas
Hm, in fact that didn't really solve the problem, it just switched this feature off. But it should be useable anayway. I'll have a look at this again soon.
Would you eventually support me a bit to solve this finally?
Thanks Thomas
Thomas,
It turns out that when I use the WMA file format I get the Data Execution Prevention Error. When i use the WAV file everything works fine. I would rather use the WMA format because i believe the files are not so big.
Hope this is of some help.
Jamie
Hi Jamie,
I just tried what you are doing on my machine and couldn't reproduce this message. When you try to produce WMA files AOMrecord does this by calling a script from Microsoft. The script is named Wmcmd.vbs and resides in AOMrecord's program folder (usually C:\Program Files\AOMrecord).
Eventually it would help if you could disable DEP for this file.
Please let me know if this helped.
Regards
Thomas
Thomas...I am trying Vista and have not had this error. I am recording to mp3...just to add something....Sal
Thanks, Sal, but I think it only happened with WMA files.

Thomas
Hi, Thomas. I am also getting the DEP error when trying to record WMA files. I just reinstalled Vista with SP1 and all updates, then reinstalled AOMrecord. Encoding to MP3 works fine. I disabled DEP on the AOM record program but it did not help. The normalize music files after recording option is NOT checked.
I really like your AOMrecord program and have recommended it to my friends and family. Was just wondering if you have a fix for this issue yet??
Hi Ron,
This error didn't occur since February 2008. There was no way for me to reproduce it, either. I'm sorry, but it must have something to do with your Vista configuration. I'm not able to diagnose this from here. I wish I was.
When downloading the WMA encoder, did you do this with administrator rights? Eventually try this again.
Regards Thomas
P.S. Thank you very much for your recommendations!
Thanks Thomas for the quick reply. I am sure you are right. Vista seems to have many issues. I will work on the problem and if I find a solution I will post it here. Ron
