AOMRecord saved and encoded the first 3 songs, now it will not record anything else.
What should I try? :(
Hi Lane,
Please think of what you changed after recording these 3 songs and let me know.
Thomas
I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled and registered, and still no recording ability. The icon turns from blue to red when I click, 'record current song', but after clicking 'stop at end of song', it never does, and the program hangs up after clicking 'close program'.
Hi Lane,
I saw you wrote some more articles in this forum. Could you please tell us how you solved this problem?
Greetings
Thomas
Same thing happened to me when I installed the latest update, earlier this week.
AOMrecord cannot record if the settings on the Audio Devices tab have not yet been made. They must be made at least once for each provider because they are stored for each one separetely.
Please try that and let us know.
Thomas
I downloaded the trial version but after I recorded 3 songs it stopped working -I note that others have had this problem as well. This is a programme that I want to purchase but :( :( cannot get to work. Has anyone solved this problem as I've tried just about everything
Hi Allbany,
Please try these steps for a test:
1. With the Explorer rename
AOMrec.exe in
C:\Program Files\AOMrecord to
AOMrec.old.
2. Download
http://AOMrecord.de/bin/test/AOMrec.exe and store it in
C:\Program Files\AOMrecord.
3. Try AOMrecord.
4. Post the result here.[/list]Thomas
BTW, could you please use a real name? Makes my job a bit more personal.
Thank you Thomas.
I have looked in C/Programme Files/AOMrecord but there is no file labelled as AOMrec.exe. I have run search for that file but the search comes up with 'no file found' I have tried to download the file that you gave me but it tells me that AOL.exe already exists and would I like to replace it with the new file?
Derek (allbany21)
Derek,
If it tells you that the file alread exists, you can replace it. I guess you mistyped the file name. It cannot be AOL.exe.
Please recheck this and then replace it.
Thomas
Thanks Thomas.
It was a typing error. I have tried what you suggested and cannot get it to record. Everyting about the recording looks fine - recording level etc and the AOMrecord tab turns red when the recording starts but nothing is saved.
Derek.
Thanks for the help on Saturday Thomas.
After you left I tried the programme again and it worked perfectly and has done ever since. I've tested it over the last couple of days, downloaded the WMA encoder and it all works! I have changed nothing in the system.
Just one thing that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere (although I may have missed it). AOL.USA has a lot of "XM" transmissions which are clearly marked on the station list and these will not record despite the fact that the player seems to be functioning properly. I understand from reading various web sites on XM radio that it is impossible to record this material due to the fact that it has some form of encryption.
I've purchased the programme now.
Once again thanks for the help,
Best wishes,
Thank you very much for your patience, Derek!
For those who are interested:
I had a look at Derek's computer via remote assistance (BTW, a great feature of Windows XP).
After thinking about it I guessed one of the folders Derek used was a folder that didn't belong to the user name he was logged in with. And because he doesn't have write access to this folder AOMrecord was not able to put any files into this folder.
So, please make sure that you use only folders you have write access to (for temporary data, log files and final music files).
Have great time using AOMrecord!
Thomas
