No response from DynDns.org (custom)

3DWatch doesn't seem to be receiving or processing the response from DynDns.org. I double checked everything, including the syntax specified in the 3Dservices.ini file (which varied slightly from what DynDns.org says, so I tried both formats). I get nothing in the log file about either a timeout or a reply, nothing at all. The "DNS state" stays yellow all the time.
I can tell from my firewall log that the request is going out and a reply is comming back, but all I see in my log file are the queries to whatismyip.com getting my correct ip (that part works ok).
I'm about to give up, I can't get this thing to work

I would be grateful for any help, thanks in advance

Hi,

To help you with this issue I'd like to get your .ini file from 3DWatch's program folder. If you send me this I'll try to see if I can find something out.

Regards

Hi Proland (funny name ;)),

I tested your 3D.ini file with test account test2.customtest.dyndns.org and user and password test. I did not use your 3DServices.ini file. Everything is working fine.

There's only one thing that I took notice of: You are using a relative high StartupDelay of 120 seconds. But that only delays the update process. It doesn't keep it off.

Normally a yellow indicator means that the service has been updated with the current IP address already. In this case nothing is written to log file because there was nothing to do. Could you please check this? You could eventually try with the Update now button. Doing this once or twice doesn't do any harm at all.

If your IP doesn't change at all it may be wise to let 3DWatch update it every 28 days or so.

Hope I could help. Please keep us informed!

Have a nice day!

Thomas
